Former Northwestern High School basketball player Trevor Paulus signed his official letter of intent to pursue his academic and athletic goals at Central Christian College in McPherson, Kan.

Paulus was offered a full tuition athletic scholarship at the NAIA Division I college and will play for head coach Tony Romero’s Tigers in the Sooner Athletic Conference.

The CCC Tigers finished 23-9 overall last season, their best record since they went 22-10 back in 2010-11.

The 6-foot-4 guard/forward from Brule is a 2014 graduate of NHS and graduated from Gogebic Community College (Ironwood, Mich.) with an associate of arts degree in May.

Paulus played one year for the Samsons, averaging 11 points and five rebounds. He was the team’s most valuable player.

The business major is the son of David and Michelle Paulus of Brule, and the grandson of Linda and the late Gary R. Lind.
