The Glen Harris rink of Superior won the Manly-McLennan trophy, symbolic of supremacy in Twin Ports curling. Curling with the veteran skip were Bill Byrnes, Gene Oakes and Merrill Hoven. (1953)
Jack Peterson scored the only goal of the game as his Billings Park team defeated Pattison in Superior PeeWee Hockey League action. Paul Hill fired in two goals for Wade Bowl in a 2-1 win over Pattison. Wade Wiitala managed to get the puck in the nets twice and Jim Fuller was successful once as East End dropped the South End team 3-1. (1978).
Tom Murray finally got his three-goal hat trick for the Superior Senior High School hockey team after four two-goal performances. It happened in a 4-4 overtime tie with Duluth Central. Jason Haack scored the other Spartan goal. (1984)
