The Superior High School boys hockey team wrapped up its regular season with a 7-0 loss to Duluth East Thursday night at Wessman Arena.

The Spartans, who were playing without leading scorer Aaron Miller, will take an 11-12-1 record in to the WIAA playoffs when they host Menomonie at 7 p.m. Thursday.

Miller suffered a muscle pull in his upper leg late in Tuesday’s 2-2 overtime tie at Hermantown.

Gunnar Howg stopped 11 shots to pick up the shutout for East. Paxton Paine made 28 saves for Superior.

SPARTAN SPIN: It was senior night for the Spartans. Honored in between the first and second periods were seniors Miller, Paine, Aaron Wakefield-Zubiate, Noah Peterson, Daniel Mikel and William Bednarek.
