Lindstrom leads Green Bay to two wins
Jessica Lindstrom picked up her 13th and 14th double-doubles of the season for UW-Green Bay Saturday and Monday in the Motor City Madness Tournament.
The Phoenix opened the Horizon League playoffs with an 89-60 victory over Valparaiso Saturday and defeated UW-Milwaukee 66-59 Monday afternoon.
Lindstrom, a junior, led Green Bay in scoring and rebounding both games.
In Saturday’s quarterfinal match, Lindstrom had a game-high 20 points and 11 rebounds. She went 6-of-9 from the field, including 3-of-5 from beyond the arc.
On Monday, Lindstrom led the Phoenix against UW-Milwaukee in the Motor City Madness semifinals.
Green Bay took a 37-31 lead after two quarters of play, boosted by seven points and four rebounds from Lindstrom. She did not slow down in the second half and finished with 15 points and a game-high 12 rebounds.
The Phoenix (26-5) play in the Motor City Madness finals at 11 a.m. today at Joe Louis Arena in Detroit. Green Bay plays the winner of Monday’s Wright State-Detroit Mercy game.
