Maddy Myer and Chloe Kintop led the Spartans with 15 and 12 points, respectively, as they defeated East for the second time this season and improved to 9-10.

Superior also won 39-22 on Jan. 25 at Duluth East.

Macy Hermanson led the Greyhounds with 22 points.

“It was nice to get a win on Coaches vs. Cancer night, what a great event for our school and our community,” SHS coach Dave Kontny said. “It was also the senior project for one of our players (Sophie Kintop) and she put a lot of time into organizing, fundraising and promoting the event.”

The Spartans play at Chisago Lakes tonight and host Hayward Tuesday. Both games begin at 7:15 p.m.

“Hopefully this win gives us some confidence back and gives us some momentum going into Friday’s game at Chisago Lakes,” Kontny said. “I’m proud of our kids, they really played hard tonight and shot the ball a lot better.”
