Tiger boys stop Spooner

The Northwestern High School boys basketball team improved to 4-1 with a 58-45 win over the Spooner Rails Thursday night in Maple.

Kade Bartelt hit five 3-pointers and finished with game-high 28 points as the Tigers also improved to 2-0 in the Heart O’ North Conference.

The Tigers, who led 27-24 at the half, also got eight points from Jake Brill, seven points from Sam Risley, and six points apiece from Jagar Stillson and Greg Ruhman.

Sam Johnson led the Rails with 16 points.

The Tigers play at Hayward Tuesday and Barron Friday. Both games begin at 7:15 p.m.
