“We had great results for the first competition of the year,” NHS coach Grady Radabaugh said. “Our newcomers and JV wrestlers had some great experiences as well.”

Morgan Berggren finished in first place for the Tigers at 285 pounds.

“Morgan had a hard-fought battle and was able to pull off a win because of grit and being physically fit,” Radabaugh said. “He was able to outwork his opponent in overtime in a very exhilarating match. It was a great way to end the tournament.”

Returning state qualifier Calen Kirkpatrick finished second with 22 points at 138 pounds.

“He had a very strong showing and was only defeated in the finals by a three-time state champion,” Radabaugh said.
