The Spartans advanced to the title game by defeating Foley 12-2 in the six innings and St. Cloud Tech 8-0.

The only other times play was limited were in 1979 (snow) and 1995 (rain).

05/05/2008 12:00 AM The University of Wisconsin-Superior men’s and women’s track teams were in action Friday and Saturday at the WIAC Outdoor Conference Championships held at Eau Claire. The meet was delayed from more than an hour Friday because of lightning, and weather continued to be an issue throughout the meet.
UWS set a number of records in the meet.

05/05/2008 12:00 AM The University of Wisconsin-Superior softball team ended its season Saturday with one win and a pair of losses in the Wisconsin Intercollegiate Athletic Conference Tournament.
The Yellowjackets defeated UW-Stout in the elimination game, 2-0, and then went on to fall to UW-Whitewater and UW-Stevens Point.

05/05/2008 12:00 AM The University of Wisconsin-La Crosse baseball team swept two games against the UW-Superior Yellowjackets Sunday in Superior.
The Yellowjackets, now 15-21 overall, fell 5-2 in the opener and 8-3 in the second game of the doubleheader. The two teams played two more games today beginning at noon.
