Mary Kay Tuura

Mary Kay Tuura, age 66, of Iron River, lost her battle to cancer on Monday, October 30, 2017 with her loving husband by her side. She was born on March 13, 1951 in Superior, the daughter of Jack and Gladys (Hansen) Wilson.

Mary graduated from high school in Two Harbors, MN in 1969. In 1971, she received her cosmetology license, recently retiring after 41 years. Mary was the queen of the Iron River Red Hats Society. She loved working at Forever Marge's Floral and the Fig Leaf. In her spare time, she enjoyed handwriting letters to friends, making cards, reading, knitting and spoiling her grandkids.

She is survived by her husband Mike of 35 years, 2 daughters, Leah (Cory Holsclaw) Lehto - Iron River and Marietta (James) Johnson - Iron River, a son, William (Katie) Tuura - Iron River, 6 grandchildren, Carson, Brayden, Micah, McKenzie, Paige, and Thor, many friends and special friends, Linda Trzynka, Pat Blomfelt and Shirley Tuura.

She was preceded in death by her parents and sister and brother-in-law, Barb and Jim Hoefling.

A memorial service will be held at 11 A.M., Saturday, November 4, 2017 at Our Savior's Lutheran Church in Iron River with Pastor Carol Braun officiating. Visitation will be from 10:00 - 11:00 A.M., Saturday at the church. The Roberts Funeral Home in Ashland is handling arrangements.
