Sheldon Beavers

Sheldon Beavers, 78, longtime area resident died Monday, July 3, 2017 at Solvay Hospice House in Duluth, MN.

He was born on December 20, 1938 in Merced, CA, the son of Malcolm and Enoia (Branco) Beavers.

Sheldon served his country honorably in the United States Marine Corps.

He married Kathleen R. Carey on April 30, 1988 in St. Anthony Catholic Church in Lake Nebagamon, WI, and they celebrated twenty-nine years of marriage before his passing.

He worked as an accountant for General Mills in Poplar, WI for many years before retiring in 2008.

Sheldon along with his wife Kathleen were longtime members of St. Anthony Catholic Church in Lake Nebagamon. He was also a former active member of the Duluth Kiwanis Club.

Sheldon is survived by his wife Kathleen Beavers, Superior, WI; one step-daughter, Ann Carey (Ellis) Tobin, Delmar, NY; four step-sons, Robert Carey. Montara, CA, Chris Carey, Superior, WI, Michael (Michelle) Carey, Superior, WI and Raymond Carey, Chicago, IL; seven grandchildren, Bianca, Christopher, Madilyn, Maxwell, Menandro, Rachel, Jessie Kate; one brother, James Beavers of California; one sister-in-law, Mary Beavers, Atwater, CA and many nieces and nephews.

He is preceded in death by his parents; two sons, Joseph and Matthew; one granddaughter, Emily Seay; one brother, Ross and one sister, Marjorie Davis.

Visitation will begin at 10:00 AM on Saturday, July 22, 2017 in Cathedral of Christ the King Catholic Church, 1111 Belknap Street, Superior, and will continue until the11:00 AM Mass of Christian Burial with Rev. Fr. Adam Laski as celebrant.

Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery where Military Honors will be accorded

by the Richard I. Bong American Legion Post #435 Honor Guard.
