David A. Ford

David A. Ford, 62, of Superior, died Monday, July 10, 2017, surrounded by his loved ones, at St. Luke's Hospice, Duluth.

He was born in Ashland, WI, on October 12, 1954, the son of Hillis and Elizabeth Betty' (Knudson) Ford.

On February 14, 2006, in Superior, David A. Ford and Terry Jean Beans were united in marriage.

From 1984 until 2012, David and his brother, Jon, owned and operated Ford Brothers Construction.

Some of David's many interests and talents included cooking and baking; music, especially the accordion; fishing; YMCA; carpentry; reading; antiques; history; cheering for the Green Bay Packers; eating, conversing and sharing his great sense of humor with family and friends at The Kitchen.

He is preceded in death by his mother; grandparents; and uncles and aunts.

David is survived by his wife, Terry Jean; son, Burton Ford of Tucson, AZ; daughters, Sarah (Troy) Kaspari of Lakeville, MN, and Hattie (Toulee) Vang of Minneapolis, MN; grandchildren, Tyler, Olivia, Jonathon, and Eleanor; father, Hillis Bud' Ford of Bullhead City, AZ; sisters, Kathy (Jerry) McClain of Alpena, MI, and Kristin (Ron) Karimi of Bullhead City, AZ; brothers, Kerry (Cecilia) Ford of Bradenton, FL, and Jon (Nina) Ford of Superior; and several nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be on Sunday, July 23, from 11:00 a.m. until the 1:00 p.m. memorial service at Downs Funeral Home, 1617 N 19th Street, Superior. Reverend Mark Holmes, pastor of Darrow Road Wesleyan Church will be officiating.

Following the memorial service, everyone is invited to continue the celebration of David's life at The Kitchen, 803 N. 5th Street, Superior.

Should friends desire, in lieu of flowers, the family would appreciate memorials.
