Robert "Bob" Olson

Robert "Bob" Olson, 74, of Maple, Wis., died on Wednesday, March 15, 2017, at Miller Dwan Hospital in Duluth, Minn.

He was born on Feb. 20, 1943, in Superior to Richard and Laina (Saari) Olson.

Bob graduated from Northwestern High School in 1961 and from University of Superior-Wisconsin with a degree in Education.

He served his country in the National Guard and was a member of the American Legion Post 409 in Poplar.

Bob taught science in Black River Falls for 30 years.

He enjoyed his hobby farm in Maple and enjoyed working on tractors and machinery. He was a member of the Douglas County Tractor Club. He also loved the outdoors and deer hunting.

Bob is survived by his special friend, Bonnie Trapp; one sister, Shirley Mackey, Barnes, Wis.; two aunts, Ruth Olson and Emma Mattson and several nieces, nephews and cousins.

He is preceded in death by sister, Doris Anderson and brothers, Dick and Ron Olson.

Visitation: 10 a.m. until the 11 a.m. memorial service Saturday, March 25 at Hope Lutheran Church in Oulu, Wis. with Rev. Scott Stai officiating. Military Honors will be accorded by the American Legion Post 409 - Poplar. Burial will be in Maple Lutheran Cemetery at a later date.

Lenroot-Maetzold Funeral Home, 1209 E. 5th Street, Superior is assisting the family with arrangements.
