Former Superior Spartan Hailey Kontny was honored for scoring her 1,000-point last week prior to Wednesday night’s game between the University of Wisconsin-Superior and Northland College at Mertz Mortorelli Gym.

The senior then went out and scored a game-high 19 points to lead the Yellowjackets to their 42nd consecutive UMAC win with a 77-28 victory over the Lumberjills.

Kontny passed Hailey Hart and moved to No. 8 on the Yellowjackets' all-time scoring list with 1,074 points.

Hart scored 1,057 points from 2008-12.

Kontny also added three rebounds and four steals.

UWS also got 12 points from Hannah Norlin, 11 points from Jade Tucker, and six assists, three steals and three rebounds from Justine Larson.

The Yellowjackets led 40-14 at halftime and held the Lumberjills (1-17, 0-10) to 22 percent shooting from the field and just 16.7 percent (2-for-12) from 3-point range.

UWS (15-4, 10-0) plays at Martin Luther at 5 p.m. Saturday.
