Historical society announces new hires
St. Louis County Historical Society announced the appointment of new staff. Pippi Mayfield, Master of Science in legal studies, was hired as the Veterans Memorial Hall program assistant. She will connect volunteer oral historians with St. Louis County military veterans to secure their stories in the archives. Mayfield is an experienced writer for the Duluth News Tribune.
Charlene 'Charley' Langowski, Bachelor of Science in anthropology with a concentration in archaeology, was hired as the museum collections assistant. She assists the collections manager/exhibits curator in the care of collections and exhibits.
Kathleen Cargill, Master of Arts in anthropology, was hired in late 2016 as administrative assistant to the society's executive director. Her duties include assisting with grant writing, working with society board members and serving as a genealogy research adviser.
