Resolve Minnesota warrants at community event
An annual community outreach event in Duluth will now include a chance to resolve outstanding Minnesota warrants.
The Damiano Center will host Community Connect from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. Thursday at 206 W. Fourth St. Designed for people experiencing homelessness or economic hardship, it includes a free lunch and the opportunity to connect with local resources that can help.
One of the highlights of this fall’s Community Connect is the opportunity to resolve outstanding warrants. Individuals with outstanding warrants from anywhere in Minnesota will be able to speak with a public defender or prosecutor, arrange to pay fines, or have a hearing before Chief Judge Sally Tarnowski regarding their warrant.
Other services include flu shots, foot care, IDs and birth certificates, hair trims and free winter clothing. There will also be variety of agencies with information and resources regarding mental health services, housing, domestic violence assistance, services for veterans and more.
The event is still in need of volunteers to provide hair trims. For those who are interested in offering this service or otherwise contributing to the Community Connect event, please call 218-722-8708 or email email@example.com.
