The Superior High School softball team saw its season come to an end Friday in a 4-0 loss to Marshfield in the WIAA Division 1 regional finals.

The Spartans fell behind early and trailed 3-0 when play was halted at the NBC Spartan Sports Complex due to thunder and lighting. When play resumed, the Tigers added one final run for the 4-0 victory.

Marshfield will play No. 1 seed — and defending state champion — Stevens Point in the sectional semifinals today. Stevens Point advanced with a five-inning 10-0 win over Wisconsin Rapids Lincoln on Friday.

Seniors playing their final game for Superior were Lanie DeMeyer, Brandie Goldberg, Erika Olson, Natalie Olson, Allie Thul and Hannah Thul.
