Suspect in firearms incident in custody
Superior police say a man wanted in connection with a firearms incident in the 2300 block of Tower Avenue was arrested in Duluth without incident.
Lucian James Allen, 19, of Duluth is being held in the St. Louis County Jail pending an arrest warrant and extradition to Douglas County.
On Monday, Superior police reported being called to North 23rd Street and Tower Avenue around 6:21 a.m. Sunday after a 25-year-old male was Maced, then possibly shot at through a closed apartment door.
According to witnesses and people involved at the scene, Allan showed up at an apartment in the 2300 block of Tower Avenue. There had been two other calls to the same location earlier in the morning.
Allan knocked on the door and the door was answered by the 25-year-old male who was one of the people who resided there. The suspect then asked the male if he was so and so, to which the male said “no, but he is my roommate.” A short conversation took place before Allan allegedly sprayed the 25-year-old in the face with the Mace canister.
The victim then slammed the apartment door shut and heard a loud bang, which was later confirmed to be a gun being fired at the door.
No one was injured by the gunshot.
