Six arrested, one charged after warrant reveals drugs

Investigators from the Douglas County Sheriff's Office and Superior Police Department narcotics unit executed a search warrant Friday at 1215 Weeks Ave. in the city. The search resulted in the seizure of a variety of illegal drugs including heroin, marijuana and methamphetamine. It also resulted in the arrest of six people. One of those arrested, a 25-year-old male from Superior, was referred to the Douglas County District Attorney's Office for prosecution

Michael Andrew Ziegler was charged with the delivery of heroin on Monday. The remaining five people arrested were charged with possession of drug paraphernalia and have been referred to the City Attorney's Office for ordinance violations.

The search warrant was executed with the assistance of the Superior Police Department's Emergency Response Team and the Douglas County Sheriff's Office Special Response Team.

The investigation is ongoing.
