Drugs seized, six arrested in Superior search
Six people were arrested and a variety of illegal drugs seized when a search warrant executed by law enforcement officers last week in Superior.
The search at 1215 Weeks Ave. on Dec. 6 resulted in the seizure of a variety of illegal drugs, including heroin, methamphetamine and marijuana, according to a release from Deputy Chief Nicholas Alexander with the Superior Police Department. One of the people arrested, Michael Andrew Ziegler, 25, of Superior, made his initial appearance Monday in Douglas County Circuit Court. He faces one count of delivery of heroin. The remaining five people arrested were charged with possession of drug paraphernalia and have been referred to the City Attorney's office for ordinance violations, according to Alexander.
The search warrant was executed with the assistance of the Superior Police Department's Emergency Response Team and the Douglas County Sheriff's Office Special Response Team. This is an ongoing investigation, according to Alexander.
