Identity confirmed for missing teen
Superior police confirmed the victim found Saturday is Sylvester McCurry who disappeared Jan. 17.
Formal identification by authorities was withheld until confirmation could be made at the autopsy conducted yesterday in Ramsey, Minn., according to a news release issued today.
The Medical Examiner's Office has stated the cause of death is listed as undetermined at this time. A final cause of death will not be issued until toxicology tests are completed, which could take 3-6 weeks. No signs of traumatic injury or assault were noted during the autopsy.
The police department stated this weekend that throughout this investigation there has been no evidence of foul play being involved in McCurry's disappearance, and that remains the case.
McCurry's body was observed by security staff at the Midwest Energy coal dock on Saturday. His body was recovered next to shore on the Western end of the dock.
