Severe storms rumbled through northern Minnesota on Sunday night, leaving one person dead.

Cook County authorities on Monday identified a man killed by a falling tree as Craig Anthony Walz, 43, of Rochester, Minn.

Walz was camping with another 43-year-old male and two juveniles, ages 14 and 11, when the storm hit.

One of the juvenile males suffered significant injuries, the sheriff’s office reported.

Walz had been a chemistry and math teacher since 2003 at St. Charles High School in southeast Minnesota.
