Enjoy our parks while the sun shines

Brock Flowers

Douglas County administration

Sunshine has been plentiful in the Northland this week and we hope Douglas County citizens have been able to get out and get active in our community. We love to see our parks and natural resources being utilized to their fullest potential. Douglas County’s committees and groups have a lighter schedule next week compared to the usual clustered calendar, hopefully giving our employees a chance to enjoy some great weather and summertime in the Twin Ports as well. The upcoming week is an important week however even with a lack of organizational meetings.

The 2016 partisan primary is Tuesday and we encourage everyone to cast their vote and be heard. Remember, you can make a difference.

The Zoning Committee meets at 9 a.m. Wednesday in Board Room 201 of the Douglas County Government Center, 1316 N. 14th St. Superior. The major action item will focus on game farms within the county and a public hearing will also take place to discuss several ordinance appeals and changes at 10 a.m.

The Health & Human Services Board meets at 4:30 p.m. Thursday in Room 207C of the Douglas County Courthouse, 1313 Belknap St. Superior.
