Students and their backpacks were checked this morning as they entered Superior High School after an anonymous threat of violence was made against the school, according information posted by the School District of Superior on Facebook.

The school is not in lockdown and classes continued as normal, according to the district office.

The backpack checks were a precaution, the post stated. Law enforcement traced the threat to a computer in Flagstaff, Ariz. The Superior Police Department has been in touch with the Superior Unified School District in Arizona to make them aware of the threat, the district office said.
