An Iron River man is charged in connection with a prostitution sting in Superior.

Michael John Larson, 46, faces one count of prostitution-nonmarital sexual intercourse stemming from a Nov. 26 incident. The criminal complaint was filed Monday in Douglas County Circuit Court. Larson’s initial appearance is scheduled for March 19.

According to the complaint:

Larson responded to a ad set up by the Superior Police Department. A meeting was arranged at a Superior hotel with an undercover detective. Larson arrived, asked for “full service” and put cash on the television stand.

The Superior Police Department, Douglas County Sheriff’s Office, Duluth Police Department and Lake Superior Drug and Gang Task Force conducted the six-week investigation. Two women and seven men were arrested as a result of the sting.
