South Range man gets prison for robbery, drug charges

A South Range man will spend four years in prison for robbing a Superior ICO station in February 2013.

Michael Eric Terry, 23, pleaded guilty in Douglas County Circuit Court in March to one count of armed robbery. Last week, he was sentenced to 10 years imprisonment — four years confinement and six years of extended supervision. The court ordered him to pay $265 restitution and provide a DNA sample.

Terry also pleaded guilty to charges of obstructing an officer and possession of narcotic drugs.

The drug charge stems from a March 2013 traffic stop. Heroin was found in the front passenger seat where the South Range man had been seated. He was sentenced to three years imprisonment, 18 months confinement and 18 months of extended supervision for the drug charge and nine months in jail for the obstructing charge to run concurrent with the robbery sentence.

An additional armed robbery count and charges of misdemeanor theft and delivery of heroin were dismissed, but read in for sentencing.
