Superior police arrest 6 in burglary/narcotics case

Six Superior residents suspected of taking part in recent residential burglaries were arrested Wednesday.

The Superior Police Department made an arrest Wednesday of an individual who was reported to have been involved in recent burglaries, according to a release from Sgt. Derrick Hughes with the police department. Further investigation led authorities to serve a search warrant at 1215 Weeks Ave. in Superior later that day.

Five other people were at the residence upon the officers’ arrival. Three adult males and two adult females were taken into custody for various charges including narcotics possession and possession of stolen property, including stolen firearms, according to the release.

The individuals arrested in this incident were Michael A. Ziegler, 35, John H. Mack, 27, Jacob C. Johnson, 27, Amy M. Pionk, 30, Megan C. Cronin, 29 and Joel Poverude, 25, all of Superior. Future court dates will be held, according to the release.
