BRAINERD, Minn. -- Henry "Hank" Mills II, one of the founders of Mills Fleet Farm, died Thursday.
"It is with deep sadness that we convey that Hank Mills, a patriarch of our business, has passed away yesterday due to illness," the company announced on its Facebook page Friday. "He will be greatly missed."
Mills, along with his father Stewart Mills Sr. and his brother Stewart Mills Jr., founded Fleet Farm in 1955.
Mills Fleet Farm is a retail chain of 35 stores in Minnesota, Iowa, Wisconsin, and North Dakota. It was announced earlier this month that the family-owned company was sold to New York-based KKR, one of the country’s largest investment companies that has holdings in various industries of about $100 billion.
The Mills family has asked for privacy at this time. No funeral arrangements had been announced yet publicly as of late Saturday.
