DULUTH — Allegiant announced Tuesday it will end its scheduled service between Duluth International Airport and Phoenix/Mesa Gateway Airport.

The route is currently on seasonally hiatus, scheduled to resume Nov. 14. Customers with reservations beyond that date will be contacted directly by Allegiant for full refund.

"We are always disappointed to end service on a route," said Eric Fletcher, Allegiant Travel Co. Manager of Airports. "We thank the Duluth International Airport for their continued partnership and apologize to any travelers inconvenienced by this decision."

Allegiant began service to Phoenix/Mesa from Duluth International Airport on Oct. 21, 2011. Allegiant will continue to operate nonstop flights to Las Vegas.
