Barksdale man indicted on drug charges
A federal grand jury indicted John R. Hauk, 40, of Barksdale, Wis., on a charge of conspiring to distribute 50 grams or more of methamphetamine, according to Acting U.S. Attorney Jeffrey Anderson of the Western District of Wisconsin.
The indictment alleges the conspiracy operated from June to November 2016.
The indictment also charges Hauk with maintaining a place in the town of Barksdale for the purposes of storing and distributing methamphetamine, and with two counts of distributing five grams or more of methamphetamine.
The sealed indictment was returned by the grand jury last week and was unsealed Thursday.
Hauk was arrested on these charges Wednesday in northern Michigan. No date has been set for his initial appearance in U.S. District Court in Madison.
