Police seek man in firearms incident

The Superior Police Department is investigating a firearm discharge incident that occurred early Sunday morning in Superior.

Police were called to North 23rd Street and Tower Avenue around 6:21 a.m. Sunday, according to a news release issued by the Police Department.

A 25-year-old mail was Maced, then possibly shot at through a closed apartment door.

According to witnesses and people involved at the scene, 19-year-old Lucian James Allan of Duluth showed up at an apartment in the 2300 block of Tower Avenue. There had been two other calls to the same location earlier in the morning.

Allan knocked on the door and the door was answered by the 25-year-old male who was one of the people who resided there. The suspect then asked the male if he was so and so, to which the male said “no, but he is my roommate.”  A short conversation took place before Allan allegedly sprayed the 25-year-old in the face with the Mace canister.

The victim then slammed the apartment door shut and heard a loud bang, which was later confirmed to be a gun being fired at the door.

No one was injured by the gun shot.

Allan was not located at the scene when officers arrived. He is believed to be in a silver 2002 Chevrolet Impala with Wisconsin plates, 903-VYW. The vehicle may also have some damage to it, but which part of the vehicle is unknown.

If anyone has information on Allan’s whereabouts, they are asked to contact the Superior Police Department at (715) 395-7414 during business hours or our tip line at (715) 395-7468. For immediate response, call 911.
