County seeks comment on plan for farm preservation
Douglas County is nearing the end of a two-year process to revise its Farmland Preservation Plan. The plan is required by the state in order to allow various incentive programs for agricultural producers. As part of the revision process, there is a 30-day comment period. If you would like to comment, send them to Christine Ostern, Douglas County Conservationist, 1313 Belknap St., Room 206, Superior, WI 54880 or firstname.lastname@example.org before Nov. 13. The Forest, Parks & Recreation Committee meets at 9:30 a.m. Monday at the Forestry Headquarters, 9182 E Hughes Ave., Solon Springs. The committee discusses several items including a request to have Movies in the Park next summer at the Solon Springs Lucius Woods County Park. A timber sale also takes place at 6 p.m. Tuesday at the Forestry Headquarters.
The Board of Adjustment meets at 9 a.m. Wednesday in Room 201 of the Government Center, 1316 N. 14th St., Superior. A public hearing convenes to hear an area variance for a property in the town of Oakland.
The Public Safety Committee meets at 4 p.m. Thursday in Room 207C of the Courthouse, 1313 Belknap St., Superior.
