The Douglas County Sheriff's Office is investigating a fire at 11472 E. Autio Road in Maple.
The mobile home was completely destroyed by the fire. The only thing that remained was the frame.
According to a Douglas County Sheriff's Office report:
National Bank of Commerce had recently foreclosed on the property, but it had been sold again about a week ago. The new owner was not living in the home, which he planned to scrap.
The sheriff's office contacted the new owner who stated he intended to scrap the mobile home because it was in poor condition, but had not given anyone permission to burn the building.
A witness who had been bird hunting in the area identified a possible suspect who had been seen around the property a day earlier.
Because of the level of damage, Detective Chris Hoyt stated determining the origin of the fire would be impossible, according to the report by Patrol Sgt. Cory Knutson.
The fire was reported around 6:34 p.m. Saturday; the Maple Volunteer Fire Department responded to the fire.
