Teacher accused of striking student
A Superior High School teacher was booked and released from the Douglas County Jail on Friday on a charge of disorderly conduct related to allegations that she struck a student.
Superior School District Administrator Janna Stevens confirmed Monday that the teacher has been placed on leave.
Superior Police Capt. Tom Champaigne said the alleged incident occurred mid-day on the second day of school, Sept. 6.
As of Monday, no formal charges had been filed against the teacher by the Douglas County District Attorney's Office.
The 44-year-old educator lives in Esko, Minn., according to Superior Police Department records.
