SLRA celebrates river cleanup projects
Last month, the Minnesota Legislature passed its $988 million bonding bill, which included $25.4 million in funding for the St. Louis River Estuary Restoration Project. These funds will trigger $47.2 million in federal funds made available through the Great Lakes Restoration Initiative to accelerate the cleanup efforts of the St. Louis River and Duluth/Superior Harbor.
In celebration of the cleanup, the St. Louis River Alliance would like to invite the public and coalition supporters to a celebration 5-7 p.m. July 20 on the second floor cocktail deck at Pier B Resort, 2 West First St. Duluth. Coffee, cake and water — and a magnificent view of the harbor — will be provided. A cash bar is also available. In case of inclement weather, the event will be at the Pilot House Board Room at Pier B Resort, which is sponsoring the event.
"This celebration is a great way to thank our supporters, as well as giving everyone a glimpse into the brilliant future of the St. Louis River," said executive director, Kris Eilers.
