DCHS performances raise money for veterans
The Douglas County Historical Society’s History Theatre has a tradition.
Every December for the last eight years, the theatre has written, produced, directed and performed the "1943 USO Show" commemorating Pearl Harbor Day and the military.
Each year, the show’s founder, Kathy Laakso, has selected an organization affiliated with the military to send part of the proceeds of the show, which serves as a DCHS fundraising event.
This year the Honor Flight Northland was selected and DCHS sent a check for $650 to Honor Flight, which is the cost for one veteran to make the trip to Washington, D.C.
"We are honored to be able to help this great organization and hope others in the community will do so as well," said Tony Tracy, DCHS director.
