South Range man gets prison time for driving drunk, twice
Robert Dean Schultze, 55, pleaded guilty in Douglas County Circuit Court June 23 to both a fifth and sixth offense of operating a motor vehicle with a prohibited alcohol concentration and one count of bail jumping. He was sentenced to 15 months in prison for the fifth offense and two additional years for the sixth offense, to be served consecutively. Following the prison sentence, he will spend four years on extended supervision.
Schultze was charged with the fifth offense following a one-vehicle rollover on Oct. 11, 2012, in the town of Highland. Schultze was the driver and sole occupant of the vehicle. His blood alcohol concentration, according to the criminal complaint, was 0.362, more than four times the legal limit. He was charged with the sixth offense following a traffic stop on County Highway B in Bennett on April 24, 2013. His alcohol concentration at that time, according to the criminal complaint, was 0.270.
