Packers’ Rodgers breaks collarbone, may be out for season

Bev's Jook Joint goes out in style

Duluth News Tribune

After more than 15 years as the go-to spot for blues, Bev’s Jook Joint in Superior is closing. In response, the Tower Avenue bar is hosting a two-night, music-filled party.

“Last Call at Bev’s Jook Joint” starts at 9 p.m. Friday and includes music by Sonja and the Reckoning, Black River Revue and Wood Blind; it continues Saturday with an open stage at 8 p.m., followed by the Rehearsals and Five Pints a’ Rye.

A News Tribune reviewer once said of the bar: “It’s like finding a seedy little South Side of Chicago hole-in-the-wall right on Tower Avenue in Superior.”

Bev’s has been a post-Bayfront Blues Festival stop for fans and musicians. Walter Trout, Tinsley Ellis and Magic Slim have performed there.
