Superior man faces charges for sexual misconduct

Body:

A Superior man accused of sending sexually explicit photos and videos to an undercover officer posing as a teen online made an initial appearance Friday in Douglas County Circuit Court.

Vincent Timothy Baker, 35, faces four counts of felony attempt to cause age 13 or older to view or listen to sexual activity. Each class H felony carries a maximum penalty of six years in jail and up to a $10,000 fine.

According to the criminal complaint:

Baker made online contact with someone he believed to be a 14-year-old female from the Waukesha area in September 2012. In reality, it was a detective from the Waukesha County Sheriff's Department conducting an Internet Crimes Against Children investigation. Baker sent a number of sexually explicit pictures and videos to the female's email account and chatted with her online using Yahoo instant message a number of times from September 2012 until February. Each chat became sexually explicit.

Baker also stated in his initial chat, "don't want to feel like a perv or anything to talking to you ... you know I am 34 and you are 14."

He also stated it would be "kind of illegal if we did meet up."

Baker is free on a $5,000 signature bond, which was set during a bail/bond hearing Nov. 13. His next court appearance is Dec. 11.
