Former hockey player charged with murder
KENAI, Alaska (AP) -- A former Kenai Central High School hockey player has been arrested on felony murder charges in Wisconsin.
Twenty-one-year-old Jedidiah McGlasson has been charged for allegedly assaulting a man who later died of his injuries.
The Peninsula Clarion reports McGlasson and another University of Wisconsin-Stout student from Canada are charged in the death of 22-year-old Bradley Simon.
Police say the three had an altercation early Saturday morning at a local bar. Authorities claim McGlasson and the other man assaulted Simon as he rode away on a bike.
The assault caused Simon to crash into a concrete wall. He catapulted over the bike's handlebars and hit his head on the wall. He died of head injuries Thursday.
Court officials say McGlasson is being held in the county jail on a $10,000 cash bond set Friday afternoon.
