Muggy week ahead
Forecasters are keeping a close watch on the weather this week. National Weather Service Meteorologist Rod Swerman says a moist unstable air mass over the state could make for some uncomfortable and potentially dangerous conditions.
"The last end of summer with a hot, muggy week ahead," he says. "Anytime there is this kind of air mass over the state, the weather is prone to thunderstorms, some of which could be severe with torrential downpours and heavy rains."
Swerman says severe weather potential is greatest Tuesday night for the southwestern part of the state, the risk will shift to eastern portions of the state on Wednesday. And then he says another system late on Friday could impact several portions of the state.
