A one-vehicle rollover at the foot of the Bong Bridge Tuesday uprooted about 20 feet of guard rail, took out a section of fencing and sent a Superior woman to the hospital.
Jodee Wheatman, 32, had to be extricated from her vehicle following the afternoon accident, according to Superior Police Sgt. Mark McGillis.
The cause of the accident was listed as driver condition, McGillis said. No alcohol was involved and it is unknown if any drugs were, but he said Wheatman may have blacked out as she could not remember the incident. She was driving eastbound on the Bong Bridge (U.S. Highway 2) and took a straight path across the intersection into the ditch. The vehicle rolled over at least two times, McGillis said.
After being removed from the car, Wheatman appeared disoriented and confused. She was transported by Gold Cross Ambulance to a hospital. No update on her condition was available from the Superior Police Department.
Wheatman was cited for having no driver's license.
