Hartley hosts candlelight celebration of winter
Winter is a pretty big deal here in the Northland with many great ways to enjoy it and Hartley Nature Center celebrates the season with a party.
The 12th annual Candlelight Ski, Skate and Snowshoe runs 4-7 p.m. Feb. 10. This event celebrates the cold weather season with this chance to enjoy all it gives us — silent woods, groomed trails, iced ponds and snowshoe access to unique areas of the park.
Fun seekers will have the chance to join naturalist-led hikes, ski a luminary-lined Hartley cross country trail, try out fat tire biking or kicksledding, enjoy a light dinner from Black Woods Catering, ice skate on Hartley Pond, Bent Paddle beer tasting and warm drinks and dessert in the yurt. Black Woods will also be offering a cash bar during the event. The whole family is welcome to join us or make it a date night.
Space is limited. Register by stopping in at the Nature Center or calling (218) 724-6735 during business hours. The event is free for Hartley member households, $10 for singles and $35 for non-member households.
