Regional lighting winners announced

The Christmas Lighting Challenge had 81 homes and businesses in four communities participating the largest challenge yet.

Heeding the community's desire to see this event reinstated during the holiday season, A Sweet Event again spearheaded the operation that started in 2015.

Over 1,000 votes are in and over 10,000 views of the online lighting map prove this region loves Christmas lights!

The community chosen winners were announced Friday at Bentleyville. Winners were present for the award ceremony.

A Sweet Event encourages everyone to celebrate with the winners and get out to enjoy the Christmas lights while they last. A full list of lighting displays, an interactive map and voting results can be found at www.sweeteventduluth.com/lightingchallenge.

This year's event has the support of Chambers of Commerce in Superior, Cloquet and Two Harbors, the Superior Business Improvement District and Legacy Toys. It was sponsored by Bentleyville and A Sweet Event with promotional assistance from Destination Duluth, the Duluth Mom's Blog, Joy Marketing, St. Luke's, Northland Vending and many other businesses in the region.
