The improvement in Wisconsin’s unemployment rate has brought the state’s three-month average rate down to 8.3 percent, seasonally adjusted, triggering changes in Wisconsin’s eligibility for federal Unemployment Insurance benefits.
Foreclosure filings in Wisconsin dropped 13-percent last month. While that seems promising, an expert says the foreclosure crisis won't be over until unemployed people in the state are put back to work.

MADISON – Wisconsin added 4,900 jobs in March, but unemployment remained on the rise in Superior and Douglas County in spite of those gains, according to data released by the Department of Workforce Development today.
Wisconsin's unemployment rate surged abruptly to 8.7% in December from 8.2% in November, an unusually large and unexpected single-month increase, the state Department of Workforce Development reported Thursday.
