Mariah Smith, a junior at Cloquet Senior High School, won a $1,000 scholarship to the University of Wisconsin-Superior for artwork judged the best in the university’s 11th annual American Indian Art Scholarship Exhibit.
St. Mary’s Hospital Superior Auxiliary is accepting scholarship applications. Scholarships are awarded to college students who are residents of Douglas County and pursuing a degree in a health related field.
Adults who know some community-minded youngsters who should get some recognition have the chance to nominate local volunteers for a national scholarship.
