Editor’s note: Douglas County’s mission is to help to help residents of Douglas County learn about the work of the County Board, led by Chairman Doug Finn, special committees, departments and administration. As the senior member of the Douglas County Board of Supervisors, Lew Martin, a former television and radio newscaster, will be coordinating an effort to better inform Douglas County residents of the various roles of county government. Martin’s goal is provide insight into county government and the services it provides.
There was a time when radio reporters had inked-stained hands, like their brethren in print. That was because we had to change the ink ribbon on the old United Press International or Associated Press wire machines. Even Lava soap couldn’t scrub it off.
