Is it just me or has this rah-rah Duluth campaign to get Google to bring its faster-than-the-speed-of-light Internet service to Duluth been going on a bit too long?

Community support is one of the things Google will consider when it picks a test market for its new community initiative, Duluth Mayor Don Ness said at a City Hall news conference Thursday. Ness called for volunteers to attend Saturday’s open casting call for a short movie to help lure Google.
The community group trying to persuade Google to test a super-fast Internet service in the Northland managed to keep the “Twin” in Twin Ports Tuesday, heading off the potential loss of Superior from the Google Twin Ports Fiber Initiative.
