Tuesday the Wisconsin Congressional Delegation applauded the announcement by Wisconsin Governor Jim Doyle that SeniorCare, Wisconsin’s popular senior drug coverage program, has received a waiver to allow it to continue operation through Dec. 31, 2012. SeniorCare currently has over 86,000 Wisconsin seniors on its rolls.
Legislative leaders on Monday announced a budget-repair package they intend to pass over the next two days — a plan Democratic Gov. Jim Doyle said he expects to rework with vetoes when it hits his desk.
But three years later, a review shows the goals outlined by the governor have not been met. His administration quietly killed the initiative last year after faulty projections, unexpected problems and bureaucratic resistance hampered the effort.
