Apostle Islands National Lakeshore subject to Wisconsin firearms laws
A change in federal law, effective today, allows people who can legally possess firearms under federal, Wisconsin, and local laws to possess those firearms in Apostle Islands National Lakeshore.
A natural gas leak related to a faulty furnace Tuesday forced the closure of a segment of North 12th Street and the evacuation of about six mobile homes at Superior’s Downtown Trailer Park, 409 N. 12th St.
Five Northwood students were injured in a two-car accident Thursday morning at the intersection of County Highway T and Highway 53 in Wascott. All five were transported by ambulance to hospitals, according to Lt. Gerald Moe of the Douglas County Sheriff’s Department.
Three people were injured, one seriously, when an eastbound automobile crossed the centerline and struck a westbound semi truck and trailer, according to a news release issued by the Superior Police Department.
