MADISON, Wis. — For years, vacationers and farmers across northern Wisconsin and Minnesota have heard the eerie howl of the gray wolf and fretted the creatures were lurking around their cabins and pastures, eying up Fido or Bessie. The tables are about to turn: Both states plan to launch their first organized wolf hunts in the coming weeks.

The week of October 21 will mark the sixth annual celebration of National Friends of Libraries Week. Currently, almost 100 of our community members contribute annually to the Friends of the Superior Public Library and many of these members actively volunteer their time to fundraising efforts that include the annual used book sale held every spring.
